Job Description for Security and Fire Integration Sales Engineer
Status: Full Time
Reports to: Executive Leadership/Company Ownership
Summary of job: Our sales professional will identify and schedule appointments via prospecting, company referrals, events and constant customer contact. This position will consult with both commercial and residential prospects (with a majority being commercial - small business to large enterprise) to educate, design, and implement the installation and service of GenX Security product lines including security integration such as security cameras, access control, biometrics, alarm systems, CCTV, audio/visual, and data networking, as well as fire and life safety system integration. The sales professional will conduct on-site sales presentations with the intention of closing and scheduling new projects, which includes recommending the best product/service based on the client’s needs.
Compensation: Base plus commission. Base commensurate with experience and proven track record. Commission negotiable. Full time benefits plus car allowance.
Relocation: Relocation is NOT available for this position. Sales candidates must live in the Upstate and be able to get to the GenX Security office easily daily. Candidates must be very locally familiar and have business relationships established locally. Car allowance is provided.
Major Responsibilities

Responsible for developing a sales plan with company Ownership for all GenX Security business areas: fire alarms, security systems, access control, security cameras, audio/visual, data networking, etc., with familiarity of all our major brands.

Manage the day-to-day activities of all sales ensuring we meet or exceed customer and GenX Security sales goal expectations.

Negotiate contracts and execute pricing strategy to develop new business and maintain existing business.

Monitor sales performance and refine sales strategies as required to ensure GenX Security successfully meets assigned goals and objectives. Reallocate resources to improve overall results as needed.

Contribute to the development of marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies for the company.

Seeks out continual coaching and training on the technical aspects of the organization’s products and services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions; and on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help achieve their sales targets.

Focus on high level customer networking and drive growth through collaboration and customer success.

Design and quote security system integration and fire and life safety systems for customers.

Develop business plans for the Upstate territory including business development strategies, strategic customer development and industry relations

Meet with key clients to build and enhance relationships, and negotiate and close deals.

Leverage time for ride-alongs with the technicians to stay on top of hands-on integration and project management.

Ensure that the GenX Security sales philosophy is executed in securing quality business approved contractual terms, and profitable pricing practices

Responsible for administering, communicating and complying with all company policies and procedures, whether formally or informally communicated.
Position Qualifications
Must have at least 2 years of security integration and life safety systems sales experience, including:

2-5 years (minimal) of successful and documented monthly track record of security integration and life safety systems sales experience.

Systems design and builds for access control, IP cameras, alarm/ intrusion, fire alarm, network, AV, or a combination thereof of all or most of the major brands we integrate and represent (Alarm.com, LenelS2, Hikvision, Mircom, etc. See Homepage for Superior Brands.)

Self-starter, organized, and motivated for numbers and sales.

Must source for prospects and run own leads. Leads will not be handed to sales. Sales must generate leads, cold call, research potential customers, and set meetings.

Must work well with company ownership.

Must have a clean record and be a trustworthy person that could represent GenX Security as the first face on site.

Proficient with PC, scheduling/calendaring, Excel, and cloud utilities.

Solid understanding of networking a big plus, including building relationships with IT departments at customer sites.

Must already have many contacts and previous business relationships in the Greenville and general Upstate areas around Greenville.
