THE PROJECT

Bon Secours Wellness Arena is a 17,000 sq. ft. professional sports arena and home to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits hockey team. With up to 15,951 spectators and fans attending each event at one time, security integration must be flawless.

CLIENT GOALS

The Arena required an upgrade of the existing access control and camera systems which could capture a higher resolution for monitoring activity in public and private-access locations, with real-time notifications. The goal was to achieve greater clarity, visibility, efficiency, and responsiveness for guard control before, during, and after events.

SERVICES DELIVERED

GenX Security utilized the wiring and fiber to allow for growth of IP devices, including:

• Installed new network video recorder, pan tilt zoom controls and multiple monitors for camera call-up and control.

• Upgraded existing access control system to an IP system, giving the client greater flexibility and ease of use.

• Worked with the IT department to segregate via VLAN.

• Added cameras to visually advantageous and discreet areas, such as hard to reach heights above the arena.

TECHNOLOGY UTILIZED

Geovision IP cameras and NVR along with S2 Security Access Control provided user-friendly application and software clients. Different user-levels for admin and guards were established to prevent any unauthorized changing of criteria and stay in view-only mode for non-admin level personnel/staff.

PROJECT RESULTS

Through the GenX Security installation plan and execution, Bon Secours Wellness Arena has successfully achieved guard control via intercom and access control for visitors. There is greater clarity, quality, and efficiency regarding check-in, viewing entries and exits, monitoring the crowds, ensuring the safety of the artists, viewing of equipment transfers, monitoring the box office, and transfer of money into authorized and secure hands.
